Get a damn job

I just visited a page titled "Occupy Marines" this shit is on facebook...I guess they are pushing for a nationwide strike tomorrow and after all their propaganda, I'm still planing on going to work tomorrow... Go occupy another country for gods sake. Or if you really wanna do something to help this country that you think is so wrong, use due legal process to fuckin do it. Don't bitch out of work because someone else makes more than you. Ever stop to think that maybe that person has earned the right to be a CEO of a big bank? Maybe, just maybe they worked everyday to get to the top? You really wanna live in a country that only lets you have as much as you need instead of as much as you've earned? Then get the fuck out of America pussy. Because in this Country you have to work your way to the top. You don't get handouts for fucking occupying US soil. You get the freedom to work however you see fit doing whatever you want and earning as much as you have the will to earn. My little bit of free speech for the night.

Insights.

Do you know what amazes me?
Clouds.
Always changing and always beautiful.
How the sunset paints them like a blossoming exquisite fire that burns across the sky consuming the whole view.
Never has the image failed to bring any day to perfection.
Regardless of whatever worries plagued me, or any instance that marred the moment before I look heavenward and see the expanse of beauty erupting from the westward rest of the life giving sun as it breaks the horizon that limits our view from the furthest reach of the human eye.
It continues to warm everyone no matter what they believe, fight for, no matter if they are rich or poor, alone or with company, hungry or filled, good or evil it is unbiased in its light and warmth.
The sun and the clouds both provide for all who breathe the air they occupy and again provide us all with the expansive beauty yet ask noting in return.

Just a thought I had the other day while I was outside.
Then I had another thought as I when to bed. I couldn't sleep until I wrote it down to I could put it up here later.

Past deeds should not define us.
What we have learned from them and what we do in the present makes us who we are.
The past is behind us for a reason, so that we can remember it and claim the lessons learned without having them block our view of what is in front of us.
The future but firstly the present.
If we are constantly regretting and dwelling in the past it is impossible for us to move forward.
Its like trying to drive down the freeway in reverse using only our little mirrors.
You will never be able to go as fast or dodge obstructions in your way as effectively.
You will hinder yourself and relationships and interactions with everyone else.
Not to mention loose your mind...

So yeah, just a few of things on my mind as of late.

2.02.2011

Harder. Better. Faster. Stronger.

OK, I have noticed a lot about myself the past few weeks. Firstly, I have visibly gained weight and I don't like that. Secondly, I have a lot less energy, and I really don't like that. Thirdly other people notice too and i'm getting more crap for it that usual.
I have decided to take a stand.
Awesome food that is so easy and convenient, I will have no more of you.
Amazing tasty refreshing soda, you are bad for me.
Laziness, although you pay off now with comfort and awesome, you are making me fat.
No more excuses (unless they include a lack of money or to much REAL work) I have had it with the slow downward spiral.
From now on, No soda. Unless its Baja Blast because I can't say no to that and its not like I will be going to taco bell (the sole proprietor of the amazing Baja Blast) that much anymore...sad face...
No more random Pizza because I am to lazy to walk over to the subway and get something better for me.
No more fast food junkie bull shit. If I end up there because thats where people are going then most of those places offer a salad option.
I have to get control of this before it has more control over me, most of you know how much I hate letting my control into someone or somethings hands that are not my own.
I have decided that I will eat Fruit and or yogurt and or granola types for breakfast.
I will have a salad for lunch, with chicken or another healthy protein source.
For dinner something with lots of veggies, healthy meats and a little bit of carbs.
Maybe sushi...or a subway wrap.
But not only do I need to start loosing bad weight but I need to get my energy back. I feel to tired and lazy to walk a few block when two years ago I damn near walked or rode my bike everywhere, yes it was out of necessity but it didn't bother me then like it does now.
So to combat this I will also be taking my (almost) daily PT more seriously. I am going to attend the gym more and work on waking up my muscles from their apparent hibernation.

I would adore your support however you can manifest it, I can assure you I will need it.

1.18.2011

Would you?

We decided at work today that 1 million is just not enough money to endure homosexual fellatio and if one ties a cat to his chest and a piece of evenly buttered toast to his back than it should have a "jetpack" like effect where one would steer by beating the cat around the head. Solid theory...

Just one of many of the fantastic conversations I not only endure but fully participate in working with marines.

With a new year we concentrate more now than ever on starting anew, bettering oneself and moving forward. Best time to be selling gym memberships. But even now I find myself looking more into the past than to the future. I'm working on it but what can I say... As human beings we have weak moments and this is one of mine. No matter I will overcome this as I have everything else, with diligence. One of the strongest of the human traits yes? Our ability to continue when all else has failed us? When we seem to have reached the bottom the only place we know where to look is up.
Not really sure where else I'm going with this but I think the point here is, stay chipper! I know I am doing my very best. More on this later, love you all!

Life is living. So worth the trouble.

My life is an adventure. I can look at it with a half empty attitude or I can accept the fact that there are weekends I'll have to work and broken cars to deal with. I need to remain happy and find the beauty in everything or even the light at the end of the tunnel is to small and to far away.
By the way I've music playing loudly in my headphone right now. It makes me so happy.
I suppose that first bit was more directed to myself than anyone else, but I do hope daily that what I do teaches others. I would hate for anyone else to have to endure the consequences of my mistakes due to ignorance. I'm really not sure what to write about but I've really wanted to get back on here for a while and now my insomnia and the need to write have overcame the busy stint that has plagued me with the "inability" to blog.
Beauty, bliss, silly things that make me smile, are always present everywhere we look. For instance today has been rather gloomy as far at the weather. Although not uncommon for oceanside/del mar, it was rather heavily overcast today. Worse than normal I suppose, but as I found myself staring at the ever gray sky, I looked past the seemingly solid shade and saw the individual definition of each bulge in the clouds and found it enchanting. At first glance it was an expanse of gray cold almost unwelcoming sky, but the more you pay attention the more you see how dynamic and just damn pretty a "lousy day" can be. Little things like that keep me going. I have had a rough week and for a few days there I just felt really really done with it all. I had a very hard time finding those little things because I was not looking for them. I had become complacent about it, expecting the beauty to just stand out on its own from an ugly situation. It does take effort to look at a massive mess of a crappy situation and come out with a smile but it is so necessary for me to retain a wee bit of the sanity I have left.
I have alot more help then I give credit, my very loving supporting and understanding family, both at home and here in my shop. Without them I would be very lost in all the wrong directions. As much as I want to be emotionally independent I am not that type of guy. Its so much nicer to be able to call my sister in the middle of the night and ramble even though she is asleep on the phone with me then to ramble to my own mind. Having friends all over the country that I can talk to, regardless of the matter, is amazing. I love so much and thank you all for the support.
I also thank the artists that inspire me everyday. The music that I sing to whoever is, is not, or may be listening to at all hours of the night give me the passion I need to continue. When its hardest I can always pop in Say Anything and drive around hearing nothing else but poetry describing so many aspects of my life with the same intensity as I feel it.
If I could bust out and sing right now I would with a fury, but alas, my roommate sleeps...
He leaves for Iraqistan soon.

^ Win. Epic Win.
But now I must try to sleep....

I like guns

But alot of people don't. Because they kill people and appear to be poorly policed.

People live in fear of guns the same way they live in fear of anything that can kill or harm them without much chance of survival due to situational control.
There is really not much you can do once the trigger is pulled and that small bit of energized lead and copper is wanting to introduce itself with haste.
Only pray I guess.
Point being its scary stuff. I think the media has a lot to do with it, on the news in movies and yes in gangsta rap there are tales of horrific gun violence. Take the gun outta the picture and there is still a crazy person who wants to hurt someone. But we cant take the gun outta the picture can we? Even if we make it impossible for the crazy person to buy a gun they are gonna get their hands on one if they really want it.
Guns are kinda like weed, you can get it legally some places. Some easier than others, but if you cant find it legally and you really want it, its not that hard to get a hold of illegally.
Illegal arms traffic is almost as frequent as drugs, know the right people and you could be holding an unregistered firearm in less time it takes to buy one legally.
It sees common sense to me hat if more people were walking around with a gun on their hip, less people would get shot or mugged or raped or robbed. Right?
So Tditty.mpeg is a gangsta, he walking in his hood wif his Gs and they just strollin. Well young Mr. dot mpeg gets bored and decides to rob this nice crib he rollin by. But then he thinks to himself, "everybody got gun these days, cuz it so easy to get a hold on em. Maybe today aint a good day to get shot for a new plasma..." and he keeps walking. Same thing happens to the traveling business man who almost got mugged on the way to the hotel after his long meeting at the downtown office, somebody pulls a gun on him and demands his watch and wallet, but Mr. Reed has taken the time to train himself with his new 1911 handgun and draws as quickly as the threat is free from the assailants lips. A short period of hearts racing and beads of sweat forming on the foreheads of the two opponents as they face of in a battle of nerves, each trying to keep control of their fight or flight impulses. However Mr. Reed has prepared himself, he is calm as he slowly tells the man to back off and leave him be. The unnamed would be mugger runs in fear as he quickly undestands he will not be getting his way.
A young woman sits alone in her house all of her friends have gone out and she stays home to study for her up coming midterms. An uneasy silence creeps up her back making the her hairs stand on end, she steals a quick glance to her beside table where the grip of a stock-less 12 gauge, loaded with buckshot, sits waiting for the moment it is needed. The wind picks up outside the window masking the quick footsteps of a once loving but now wildly obsessive boyfriend making his way to her back door. Kim's ears perk up just in time to hear the door slowly creek as the old brass hinges beg for lubrication. Knowing no one is supposed to be home this early she quickly and fluidly grabs the shotgun and checks the chamber making sure its empty to avoid miss fire, habits instilled by her father who sleeps soundly at home knowing he has taught his daughter how to keep herself safe. She waits behind the door of her bedroom careful not to make any noise even as her breathing quickens. She hears the footsteps and tightens her grip running though a mental checklist, raise the sights and aim, verbal warning, shoot for the legs first then to kill. The sound of  muddy boots making their way slowly to her door until they stop, reaching the horrifying destination. Someones hand shakes the door handle and Kim Slams the shotguns pump action down then back up racking a round into the chamber. The sliding and crashing of the metal pieces is deafening in the silence and the boots run out the back door crashing along the way. There would have been not time to dial 911 and no one to call for help.
See?
In some countries he military is made up of everyone. You reach a certain age and you are drafted, trained and upon completion of duty sent home with all your issued gear. Including fully automatic rifles. I don't necessarily agree with mandated military service, but the point is everyone in the country is trained and armed. Who in their right ruddy mind is going to break into one of those houses knowing there is a fully automatic weapon waiting for them?
Making it harder for the law abiding people of this country to obtain and train with weapons only makes it easier for the criminals to control everyone else. They still have the assault weapons that have been banned the still have the ammunition that has been kept from he rest of us, and the still have the will to use it against us.
And we are left by the unconstitutional and socialist legislation of politically correct populists defenseless.
Thanks for the change. Was it worth it?

P.S. What the hell are we supposed to do when the zombies show up? The rednecks with all the guns aren't as friendly as they seem. Or as smart as the look. Thanks again for dooming us all to being eaten by our undead peers.

Like a year... I know i'm sorry

This is me and baby sister. I have goo on my face.

Moms magic goo.

Miri looks confused at me, nothing new.

I miss home.

And face goo a little.

I am trying to look like a salty old sgt major or sumfin...

Yes, i like it that much here...

This Is Mikey, hes mah best fwend!
I miss him.

So my few but important followers
My live is seemingly uneventful.
I have passed all my courses so far, I was recognized in my last on for having the highest academic scores out of my class, so far i have earned 14 credit hrs in m training, and I am now enrolled in the last bit of training I will have in lovey twentynine palms. At least for the foreseeable future.
I will be going to camp pendelton in sunny California and be stationed with CLR 15. Exiting stuff. maybe Afghanistan in september, who knows...
But other than all that life is a blur on unpredictable but not unguessable emotions, experiences, new people, and... well i guess just life.
you learn something new everyday
and everyday on this side of the dirt is a good day however much it seems a disappointment.
A day not cherished is a day wasted. There will always be some disappointment, life does this to
keep us on our toes, to keep us guessing. To keep us learning and improving and loving and sharing and being.
I would rather live and be let down, then hide away from all dismay.
Thats why I touch the hot stove.
I love you.

MCCES

Wow, it has been sometime. as soon as i get a computer it will be much better for blogging then the phone. the space bar dosnt always work and i have to go back and put the spaces in. same with texting. well i started class, and its just like collage, just like when they force you to do homework and conduct study groups because if dont, well its bad. not just a bad grade, oh and you are in class untill midnight starting at 5pm, then whenclass is done its time to pt! yes nothing like making your body burn at one or two in the morning. oh and if you fail class, you lose this job, and get a crappy one instead. but itsnot that hard so far...

Holy North Koreans batman!

Right so, this week sucked and rocked at the same time, literlly, like at the very same time I was happy and pissed. Well, for example, it was fun firing 100 rounds each though two machine guns yelling random dittys and names. But being nasty dirty, stinky, sore, and best of all knowing that when i was done with my 100 rounds, the next guy would pop his out, then the next, and so on untill the whole company has gone though, and then i get to clean it. Ever cleaned somethin-... No you havent. And hope that you never will. But, I have pride in knowing that when i was handed a 240B at 0830 or so in the morning, i could clear it to make sure that there is no rounds or links, the dissasemble, change barrels, reassemble, and function check, in 33 seconds. 52 seconds on the 249SAW. 4 out of 5 average with a m203 40mm grenade launcher. And im a dead eye with the M16A4+RCO. Jeepeers i'm cool. Plus I can mount a nasty defending position, on a convoy or in the dirt. And thats not all I learned in one friggen week. Ill leave this rat hole soon...

Back for more

Oh sunny californi, how sunny you have never been. Im back and start combat training tomorrow. It looks as if to make boot camp PT a silly little joke, but lots of weapon systems to train on. Very cool. On the way down from salt lake I was blessed by the people of southwest flight 1278. The flight atendant, whos name I have so shamefully forgotten, told everyone about how exited she was that i was with them and asked if everyone would chip in a buck so I could have a nice dinner, $82.00 dollors later, I use the PA on the freaken plane and tell everone how much we all apreciate the support of the people we have volenteered to defend. They all claped and cheared, and the day was won, save only I did not get to eat anthing nice before I got here. But that money will be used to buy the gear I need tomorrow that I would not have had money for! Thursday we toss m67s, i'm really stoked, ill write about it for sure. As for the rest of the post Im running out of things to say so when I have something interesting ill make sure and post it. To all the other marines out there, OORAH! And Semper Fi

Earned the Title.

Thirteen weeks. Twelve of them training as a recruit. Now i'm a Marine, a trained member of the worlds most leathal and effective fighting force. Basicly trained, but still a weapon. Can you hit 9 out of 10 on a 20×40 inch target at 500 yards with iron sights? Or put a full grown man on the ground with a twist of the wrist? I can. Plus I fit into 32 34 jeans. Nice. But more important than anything, i'm a Marine. I have brothers all over the world ready to die for me as I would die for them. I am a part of a legacy of warriors that the world knows, respects and fears.

Every silver lining has its cloud.

One of my favorite lines from one of my favorite songs played by one of my favorite bands (TAT). I got pushed back because I was not fit enough for boot camp, so I now have an extra two weeks to prepare and get my stuff taken care of, such as selling my house, and preparing it to sell. My Diviorce is final now. I am trying not to let it upset me. I have alot to prepare for. But I've lots to do today and not the time to do it.

1.16.2009

Boot Camp

In less than a week I will be shipped to San diego CA MCRD. Marine Corps Recruit Depot in CA is where all male recruits west of the mississippi river go for training. It will be Thirteen weeks, and i will be a full on marine ready for combat. I'm looking forward to the challenge, its what i want and probably need. I know that when I make it though the Crucible the 54 hour non stop running uphill with my pack, lifting, everything one can do to be tried by fire. I hope I will be squad leader, then I will have a few extra reasons to make it look easy. On a side note I am posting this entry from my phone, its the t-mobile g1. Its friggin sweeet. Well since my wife left me i have lost 20 extra lbs, gained the ability to do one pull up and basicly in much better shape. I think thats a good thing. At this point I had better get ready for the day.

Military Enlistment Processing Station

Or MEPS as anyone in the military calls it. My sweet mother wrote about it.
I left at about 11 am on the 8th of december. I remember everytime I threw down my john handcock (about as much as when I bought my condo) I also had to write the date. Military style is different for instance today is 20081217. I scored very well on my ASVAB, (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) I scored a 71. That means that I did better than 71 percent of anyone that has ever taken it. Aparently thats really high. But I did get high mechanical scores, I was happy about it.
But there is a downside to it all. There were no tank crewman jobs open right now. They are checking everyday to see if one pops up. But right now my listed job is working on the GPS systems in trucks and ordinance.
I also went from long wavy black locks and a scruffy red beard to the standard Jarhead do. Thats a 2 on top and a 0 on the sides.
I'll post pictures as son as I can.
Right now i'm watching jarhead with my mom and stepdad. He was also a marine. After this we might watch Full metal jacket. I'm trying to get as much in as I can, as far as movies.
I love movies.
One day I will make them.
Have a good day!

11.24.2008

First!!!!!!

On this day I start my blog.
On this day I will tell the world all the things they care not to know.
On this day I will... I will...
I forgot whats next...
My name Is David Nel Sevy.
I was named after my grandfather David Sevy, my fathers father.
My middle name Nel is my mothers maiden name, She is from South Africa! (that makes me "African American")
Last we checked "Sevy" is Jewish for "Sea war". And David is "God's Beloved". So I'm Gods favorite sea war.
Most people call me Dave, I adopted the common nickname near the end of my high school years.
I am just now getting out of a marriage that almost worked. I love Nicole with all my heart but there was just no way we could get along.
Thats what I get for getting married when I was 18. But now I know.
I have decided to join the United States Marine Corps, to the mixed reactions of my friends and family. My family and most of my friends support me. One of mah buddys, is anti war. He is begging me to do something else. As far as alot of the random people I talk to half about say that the Marines is the way to go, the other half say that I will be sorry. I call that second half, "The Pansies". I made deal with my dad to talk to everyone before I made a formal choice, the army Recruiter said I would do better in the Marines. My dad would rather I join the ch-Air Force. HE thinks I can learn after military skizzilz in the air force. MEh I say to this. I can still learn all those skills in the Marines.
Also if I can find two strapping young men to join me, I can get promoted.
I am going to be a Tanker.
This means that I will Learn how to drive and fix and load and fire and one day command an M1A1 Abrams Main Battle Tank. Epic.
Also I will be taught ow to use all military firearms and ordinance. (frag grenades)
This is all for today, I will tell you all about me and my family next time.
